Avon/Simsbury
This area is used as a dog training area for the field trial enthusiasts. Rt 10 In Simsbury/Avon line. By Chubb Insurance. Off 44 in Avon: Route 10 heading to Simsbury. Right at light going into Chubb Insurance. Right at first stop sign, just past the bike/walk path. Take bumpy road till it ends.
Branford
Fenced for all dogs, located behind the Adult Day Care Center on Short Beach Rd. 421 Shore Dr.
Easton & Weston
Trout Brook Valley, trails for dogs, horses, hiking, picnicking. Located near Aspetuck Land Trust's Crow Hill and Jump Hill Preserves in Easton, and Bradley Road in Weston. TroutBrookValley

Starting a Dog Park
Dog parks are everywhere, in every state, but most have leash laws, which limits the places your dog can run free. Ever been to a dog park…. Yes of course! It’s not uncommon to see twenty, thirty dogs running, playing (off-leash) together. Fenced-in small parks, where dogs run free, hence “Dog Parks”.
Essex
Paw Dog Park is about an acre, fenced and located near Hillside Dr. has restrooms managed by the Town of Essex. Has a small dog area.
Fairfield
Lakeside of Mohegan Lake has, benches, poop bags, phones, trashcans. Trails along the lake and waterfalls.
Granby
D.O.G.G.S park is double gated fenced area, located by Salmon Brook St. at Salmon Brook Park. DOGGS Park
Greenwich
Has separate fenced area's for small and large dogs. Surrounding waterfront park for leash walks. Grass Island Road.

The Copp Family Dog Park is smaller and fenced in. Dogs are allowed to be Un leashed in the park. Trails for walking around the park with lots of trees and tables.

Harwinton
Harwinton Recreation Area is an open park. On-leash is recommended. Picnic, walking, pavilion and pond. The park is located by the intersections of Route 4 and Route 118.
Milford
Located off West Main Street in Milford. It's off-leash but dogs should be leashed in the main park.
New Canaan
Waveny Park for dogs is on the grounds of the Lapham Estate. Opened in 2006 and seems to have several fenced areas to walk and play. Spencer's Run

This small park is located in a residential area where locals frequent. The Divinity School Dog Run is located on St. Ronan Street.
Norwalk
Located off Grumman Ave, has open areas with water, trails and tables.
Norwich
Located off Grumman Ave, has open areas with water, trails and tables.
Old Saybrook
Great trails and water, located off Old School House Rd. Lots of off-leash.
Ridgefield
Areas for small and large dogs. Tables and benches well maintained. The park is located at the end of Governor Street.
Rowayton
Fenced on three side and a stone wall with two separate areas for small and large dogs. The park is located on Rte 136 next to the Rowayton Library.
Southbury
It's off-leash with a small fenced in area and a large open area. Plenty of swimming. The park Dog park is located off I84 exit 15 right on to route 67, look for the O&G signs.
Southington
The Mill Street dog park is at the old ball feild on Mill Street. Dog may have to be registered in Southington. Southington Dog Park
South Windsor
This dog park has two separate areas for small and large dogs. The park is located at the end of Chief Ryan Way. South Windsor Dog Park
Stamford
Not an official off-leash area. Walking trails along the river, swimming and many other dogs (off-leash). Stamford/Greenwich line Westover Road.
Stonington
30 acres of trails on a nature preserve. Great walking. The area is located off of Notrth Main Street in Stonington.
Torrington
Lots of trails and wildlife. Ponds for swimming and visitors on a nice day. This area is located on Newfield Road, right hand side past the dam coming from Torrington.
Vernon
Nice area for dog walking. Valley Falls Park has hiking trails and is very wooded. Located off route 84 to tunnel road and left onto valley Falls Road.
West Haven
This fenced in park is grassy with lots of dogs to mingle with. The dog park is located at Platt Avenue & Educational Way. Near back entrance to West Haven High School and near the tennis courts.
Westport
Area public park, trees great for walking. Located along Route 1.
Wethersfield
Fenced in park, small dog and large areas. Trees and benches. Bring your own water. Mill Woods Park, 154 Prospect St.
